Disable the alarm?

Does anyone here know how to disable the alarm?

In this hot sunny weather, I leave my windows slightly open 5cm or so, to allow a breeze to blow through and stop the heat build up.

However the alarm keeps going off, I've tried a single push on the remote to lock, as well as a double press on the remote to lock (which I thought locked the car and disabled the alarm) - but this still results in the alarm going off.

Anyone else with any ideas?

Well on the MK1 leon pressing the remote twice deactivates the deadlocks, to deactivate the interior sensors there is a button as the bottom of the A pillar. Just press that when exiting the car.

Not sure if the MK2 has a similiar system. -Looks like the later Ibizas have a button near to the bonnet release...

looks like pressing the armnig button twice is the correct way to dissable the interior sensors for the MK2. If so then door sensors have been known to play up..?

I don't think you can, i'm pretty sure even if you don't lock the car at all it locks itself after a set amount of time... a couple of times i have taken shopping in (got sidetracked) and when i go back out the car is locked!!!
You could maybe disable it with the magical vag-Com cable, or at least change the sensitivity??
Anyway if you open the windows fully when you get in for a minute then whack the Air Con on low its not too bad is it?

It can only be done through VAG.com. Alternatively, ask your dealer to do it but expect there to be a cost associated.

according to my handbook, a double click of the lock button disables the alarm

It's not quiet a double tap. Click it once to lock, then once again whilst the alarm led on the passenger door is blinking quickly; about half a second or so after the initial press. Had to find this out a few weeks ago whilst camping... rest of the site didn't appreciate the alarm going off when I'd parked up with the windows down

Where is this alarm led? Picked up my FR yesterday and after a read of the manual last night I've been looking for it. As you say, 2 presses within 2 secs should keep the doors locked but disable the alarm and deadlocking so anyone inside the vehicle could get out of need be. I suppose its usefull if you want to leave kids or a dog inside the car for a short while. I'm more concerned about disabling the deadlocks by mistake.

Why is it on the passenger side? Something else that SEAT couldn't be bothered to transfer for RHD cars?

I'm surprised there isn't a better system. We always have to press the magic button on the ibiza when we leave the dog in there.

Luckily the navara doesn't have an alarm.

Maybe SEAT got fed up with people asking what the button on the B pillar did

I cannot lock my car with the remote fob as it has stopped working. I am locking and unlocking manually. The issue being the alarm keeps going off when getting in the car. Is there anyway to deactivate or disconnect the alarm until I get by key fob sorted?

Mines the same, I quickly put key in ignition then press unlock from inside caR

Could you not take the fuse out?

No single fuse can deactivate the alarm.you either need to lock the car without activating the alarm or have the system deactivated with vcds.
