Hi guys

I own a 2005 Leon TDI FR that should be 150 BHP and 320 NM of torque as standard.
I also have a green cotton panel air filter fitted.

I had a non-branded custom performance remap done at my regular garage a few months ago, and to be honest, I didn't notice much of a difference :(

It was only today when I finally managed to get it onto a rolling road that I had any idea as to what the power gain was. Here it goes:

171.9 BHP
281.8 lbft or torque, which equates to 382 NM

The power curve also seems a bit strange.
It is a steady increase up to 3000 revs, it then dips down at around 3400 and then shoots up quite steep between 3400 and 4000 revs. The power then dips sharply from 4000 to 4250 revs.

I thought a stage 1 remap would smooth out the power curve, and eliminate any flat spots.

Also, for a stage 1 remap, I was expecting to get at least 180 BHP and 405 NM of torque.

I don't know whether to get my garage to do another remap to try to increase the power, or to see if there is a problem with the car that is preventing it from achieving its full potential?

Any suggestions would be welcome.

1) Dubious use of the word custom

2) Probably just a sensor failure, easy enough to diagnose
a) Especially if it was 'custom' ;)

I custom map on the road in real life load situations with real life cooling 70-120mph wind beats most dyno fans

Garage probably flashed a generic map.

A remapped 150 is a noticeably increase, I suggest you find a better tuner

dyno ftw

I put dyno controlled conditions over road logging any day of the week

you overstate the fan cooling aspect
