Ok so having lived with the car for a bit now, I've decided the soundacktor/fake engine noise isn't a novelty it's just annoying ?

I've checked obdeleven and there isn't a software module for the sound generator installed, and manually enabling the module chucks an error - so it's obviously not a software controlled version? Unless I'm doing something wrong?

Can anyone tell me where it is on a Leon 184 TDI? Is it inside the car or under the bonnet somewhere? I just want to unplug it so it's reversible in the future when I eventually sell etc

I just turned mine down to 0 with carista, butnits under the window scuttle near wiper arms, youtube it mate therrs loads tutorial

Thanks, as mentioned mine isn't software controlled so I can't just turn it off with obdeleven or carista - there's no module for it.

YouTube seems to say it's either drivers side in the corner under the scuttle, or passenger side under the scuttle, or in the middle under the windscreen. Was hoping someone that's actually done a 184 could definitively tell me where it is, or if it even has one, before I start pulling stuff apart!

Easy enough to just lift up the plastic tray under the bonnet and check to see if you have it.
