Looking to get the lower 034 motorsport dogbone mount however they strongly recommend (with video and photo evidence showing the damage caused) that you also get the upper mount insert as if you only install the lower one something can bend under load and do damage. What’s everyone done with these mounts? Any issues?

Can you link the video/source for that?
Interested to know what damage they are talking about.

I've got the APR stainless steel lower insert. I never launch my car/do burnouts anyway as I've too much sympathy for the drivetrain so hopefully I'll not be putting these peak loads into the torque arm/puck assembly described by 034. I don't even understand the point of launching a powerful FWD car. The best you'll manage is mid 5s to 60mph which isn't exactly breathtaking. I prefer the pulls in 3rd and 4th which are even more exciting with the APR remap now and hopefully Charmin soft on the torque arm.

Yeah I mean I don’t either, I barely even use any of the power tbh it’s just good to have when needed.... certainly don’t take part in green light GP’s with limited edition Corsa chavs.... I think I would get both just for peace of mind; needed or not I’m not sure.

I've always worried about causing some damage. I think the best of the bad scenarios is that the mount itself breaks and the engine slams into stuff in front of it. Worse would be to crack the gearbox casing. I am guessing the latter is more likely with a stronger aftermarket arm. I will probably wait a while and see what feedback is with the top mount insert installed.
