I know its been covered before, and I've searched through but can't find a step by step guide to remove the door card.

The car went in today for a new crash sensor and they haven'y refitted the door card properly (FFS :censored: ). I think its best for the dealers safety that I try to fix this myself and not go back again!

Does anyone have a guide to remove the front passenger door card? What tools are needed?

Thanks

Which door?

I've an Altea, but I've not had mine completely off, only the handles and the cloth covered bit, to find a rattle.

Its easy enough to get the cloth covered panel out, just have to prise off some trim on the door hands. Torx screws are underneath. The window switch control panel lifts upwards out of some metal clips. just work you way around them. I seem to remember there are eight clips so be warned. Then the whole panel comes away after disconnecting the electrics. Not sure if the central convienience module with hold all its settings with no power.

Next bit i researched but gave up as looked a headache. I understand from a post on another site (now abandoned due to hacking) to get the whole door card off, that the whole lock and window mech comes out. You have to remove the window first then the rest of the door card with the lock attached!!! To get the lock bit loose you'll be needing some spline bits (halfords sell a set for £20)

See if you can get hold of Klawit in the Altea section he might have some links

Hope that helps.
