I read an Ozzie thread that was trying to turn the sound off on a VAG car. Those gated estates where they get out to open and the car dongs and annoys people living on gated estates . Someone was moaning about this on one of the new Seat cars recently from memory so it must be active on some.

We need a definitive list of which control units are locked down.

I find with most car makes, the specs. nowadays seem all over the place. Sometimes the same models even have different variants.
