hi all, Locked my car earlier but didn't hear the beep when locking, so unlocked and it beeped. Locked again but no beep but indicators flash and can hear doors locking.

walk around car to make sure all doors are locked......opened rear drivers side door and set alarm off...GREAT, door doesn't lock.

my question is, is this common (I remember reading about doors not opening, but cant remember this), the door opens fine from inside and out, the door switch seems to be fine as it turns lights on and sets alarm off, BUT it wont lock.

im guessing im going to have to strip off the carrier to access the lock, is it common for the locks to fail, or is there an electrical connector to check, would something like this show up on VCDS.

Thanks in advance :)

scanned with vcds and got fault code: 00931 locking module for central locking, Rear Right (F223) 27-00 - implausible signal.

looked in measuring blocks for cent conv, I think it was 009 which says if doors are locked or unlocked, the rear right kept saying unlocked.

cleared fault code and locked doors using drivers door lock control, door didn't lock. closed vcds and locked car, beep beep, doors now locked. unlocked and locked again.

strange, is it advisable to spray gt85 or wd40 in to the locking mechanism?
