Hi I have two questions, firstly has anyone got any way of testing a analogue map sensor (methods) I have a multi meter but not quiet sure what to do and also has anyone the testing ranges (volts reading) graph? As the Sensor changes its voltage ranges through rev ranges right? My original problem is over boosting and the vnts have been cleaned, my car is a 1.9tdi ALH engine

Secondly every now and again on first start up (not all the time) my engine idle sits at just over 1000 revs about 1100-1200 and It really pulls the car when I release the clutch, could this be linked with a map issue I'm suspecting?

Any help is really appreciated :)

All pressure sensors are analog. I suppose there might be systems that integrate an A-D converter with the sensor, but not on the Leon.

The only test I've ever seen uses the workshop diagnostic computer to compare the readings from the MAP sensor and the ECU altitude sensor with the electrical power on but the engine not running. You should be able to do this with VAG-com or VCDS as we should now call it. I don't know of any source for the characteristic curves for the sensor.

I know a VCDS can do it, that gives actual readings right? I was going to check if the sensor was shot first but seems I'm probably waiting my time, I was gonna check the green ecu signal wire.

How about my high idle? Any ideas?
