I thought that seeing as there has been talk of double din radios on here recently I'd put up a few pictures of the install I did yesterday.

It's a JVC KW-NT3 NAV/RADIO/DVD/USB/BlueTooth unit.

Along with the unit it's self, I got a steering wheel control adapter, aerial adapter and fitting fascia.

First off was to take the old radio out. The fascia pulls off over and around the radio. It is hard to get off and does take some pulling.

Under that are 4 torx screws and the radio pulls out.

I had to find somewhere for the GPS antenna so I mounted it of the top of the dash. Ran the wire around the back of the dash near the glass and then down where the front pillar is.

I decided to put the microphone for the bluetooth in the same place as the existing microphone instead of using the clip that come with it.

Here is the original mic:

I moved this out of the way and tucked it into the roof lining.

I placed the new mic in the same gap:

Next was installing the cage and surround into the double din space. Plugged in the wiring adapter which also decodes the steering wheel controls. There is also an adapter for the radio antenna. There is lots of space below the radio so all the extra wires tuck away easily.

And with everything all connected, it works a treat.

The draw backs are the original USB port near the cup holder is now redundant and the built in voice activated bluetooth now doesn't work either. I knew that before starting though. The JVC unit like most has a USB and an SD card port anyway. It also has it's own bluetooth but it is not voice activated. You select an entry from the phone book on the touch screen instead.

Excellent bud :D, any chance of links for the adapter/fitting kit?

Connects 2 CT23ST06 - Seat Ibiza 2008> Dark Black Double Din Facia Plate Kit

Connects 2 CTSST001 - Seat Ibiza, Toledo, Leon, Altea Stalk Control Adaptor

Autoleads PC5-137 - Seat Ibiza, Leon, Toledo Amplified DIN Aerial Adaptor

They are what anyone would need to fit any double din radio.

I will say that "Connects 2 CT23ST06" which is the fascia isn't the best quality. It seems to fit properly around the top but sticks out a bit at the bottom.

Everything is from http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk

I have got an under seat sub that I could fit which I had in my last car but the space under the front seat's isn't that flat.

Got the leads ready to swap out my head unit.

Where does the blue cable on the aerial adapter go?

The head unit appears to work without the blue cable connected.

Is it simply to power an amplifier in the lead to boost the aerials signal?

This thread kinda got me started to think the £400 they want to install a parrot system is a ripoff when I can get a decent stereo for the same price.

Was it tricky to get the wire to the mic and GPS wired ? Looks pretty straight forward on the pics...
