My LC's exhaust has just begun blowing. Had a look and it's the flexi bit of the downpipe. I've been looking for replacements and since I don't want to decat it I was wondering if £100 is about the right price to pay for a new one. It's the best price I've found and it's from cats2u.co.uk. Has anyone used this site before?

I'm guessing it would be easier to change the pipe rather than just weld in a new flexi bit seeing as I can't find anywhere that sells them. Until then, I've wrapped a coke can around it and secured it with some locking wire to keep the noise down. I do love the Heath Robinson way...

Euro car parts £140 I think and it's the same part TPS charges £800, all TPS does is stay a VW sign on them, got to this from some source lol

Haha that doesn't surprise me! I did have a look at ECP but all I could find was an exhaust clamp :( if you have a link, please could you show me? Cheers

You can't just buy the flexi part mate, that's the part that went on mine, it wasn't blowing tho it was just snapped, you need to buy the whole part, so that's the down pipe cat. ECP catilic converter

Sorry to bump this but I thought for those searching in future it would be useful info.

Thanks BigJohn for your replies, unfortunately ECP had listed a cat that would be illegal if it was sold to fit my car, since it was registered after March 2001. I called ECP to confirm this and the guy on the other end said using his internal search for parts for my car via my reg plate he could only see one choice which wouldn't actually fit my car since on the supposed replacement part, the cat was located where the downpipe should be and the bends were in the wrong place. He then said it was a listing error and would get it put right.

After phoning around a few exhaust specialists (some of which use ECP parts) I found one that sorted it out for me. Not a bad price, £230 fitted incl VAT (some quoted in excess of £300). More than if I did it myself but I couldn't source one in a time that suited me.

Hope this is good info and worth the bump!

Second photo is what I've got on mine

That's what I found but that second one had a note in the fitment detail that said it was illegal to sell for any car registered after March 2001. And it didn't come up when ECP searched for it when I called; the first photo was the only one that turned up in ECP's search. He said it was an incorrect listing.

Haha well it's on my car now and passed an mot so I don't no what the guy was on about
