dpf warning light??

i recently bought a fr tdi, which has had the dpf removed and a straight milltek exhaust fitted. the problem is the dpf warning come on and unfortunaly i was struck in slow moving traffic and therefore couldnt rev the car out to clear the fault the car then started to flash the coil heating light and engine management light came on, resulting the car to enter into limp mode!! my question is what and how can i solve this problem?

The idea of having the dpf removed is so that you don't get the problems that you've just described.
Are you sure yourself that it's been removed or are you going off what someone has told you?

yes, removed tho sensor was positioned back into the milltek exhaust. the idea is was ttha it would take a lot more soot for sensor to cause this fault to happen compared to usual. the car has been remapped also therefore producing alot more soot,

Very odd. I've not had the dpf delete myself, so others that have can correct me into thinking that having it done shouldn't cause the problems you are having weather the car is coughing up thick black smoke or not, it certainly shouldn't be bringing the dpf light on cause this should be disabled when the dpf is removed.

This is concerning.
Is the fault the ECU now confused as the sensors are getting incorrect readings, or as a result of the DPF-Delete OTHER engine management issues have occured!


There are a few long running threads in the Mk2 Leon section on the DPF-Delete.
In conclusion, it appears only a couple of Tuners have been successful in removing the DPF (easy bit) plus re-programming the ECU efficiently (correctly) to ignore or disable DPF sensor readings.

In your case the 2nd bit, re-programming the ECU, either hasn't been done at all (they've only removed the Filter), or the ECU is not reprogrammed correctly!

Best bet is to get back in touch with the previous owner, as you need to find out where this DPF-Delete was done and by who? The ECU will need re-programming again/correctly.

No, more soot is exactly because the DPF is no longer in the way to catch it. More so if you are putting your foot down.

When your car has the dpf delete software and hardware installed, the remap makes the ecu not recognise what a dpf regen is, as there is no dpf anymore. This is programmed into the software, so you should get no warning lights relating to the dpf. I will put my money on it it's a P-Torque dpf delete. They have had a lot of problems, and if this continues to happen the raised temperatures will damage your engine.

If your car has the DPF deleted yet it is still attempting a regen then you need to get it into a garage asap!

My Question is who did the DPF Delete? Ive heard that a S4ark DPF Deleted Ibiza has had problems recently aswell.

As much as i slate Custard Cose their Mapping has never produced any problems and its been deleted for well over a year now

Hell yeah,

They clearly haven't done it correctly but then again there is only one company that CAN do it properly and it even takes them 1-2 return trips to get things spot on.

As said so far Custard Code and S4ark only seem to be the two mappers who havent had problems with PD170's going into Regen

My CC Map has been one for well over a year now

Custom code did mine, and I had the warning lights igniting some 12 months later, was advised by custom code to stick on VAGcom and check block 075 (which is shown as a percentage) if this reads above 0% then you need a new pressure sensor mounted on the rear drivers side of engine ( has 2 rubber pipes attached ) after this was changed at a cost to me of £102, the lighting prob seems to have gone.

hi, i eventually got my problem solved, i took the car back to torque tronix and they found the fault to be the lamba sensor on the miltec down pipe. they cleared the fault and took car for a drive and the lamba reading dropped from 20% to 0%. he then reprogrammed the ecu so the lamba sensor would not be relate to the dpf problem again! hopefully this is the end of the problem. thanks for your help guys!!
