Drive Mode Issue / Throttle Response becoming sluggish during journey

Can anyone throw some light on some weird car behavior?

My 2014 Leon FR 1.4 ACT is having issues with throttle response - it sometimes responds a full second or so after the throttle is pressed, regardless of what drive mode it is in.
If I select a different drive mode this often 'cures' it temporarily - I start getting immediate throttle responses. However, during the course of a hour long journey (and without changing the drive mode) the throttle response slowly drops-off back to sluggish responses. Selecting the same drive mode again makes no difference (e.g. Sport > Sport) only switching to a different mode (e.g. Sport > Standard) improves things

I can't figure what's going on. It's as if changing the drive mode refreshes some part of the engine management, which slowly become erroneous again over time.

OBD11 throws up no errors. I've tried both the direct-throttle mod and the Audi throttle mod, neither of which have made a difference to this issue. The only thing I've noticed is that OBD11 says I am not running the very latest version of the engine management software, but SEAT haven't updated that when it's been in to the dealer.

Has anyone had similar issues? Any further suggestions welcome!

Experience tells me if I walk into a SEAT dealer and attempt to explain they'll charge me a £70 diagnostic fee, declare there's nothing wrong, pat me on the head and tell me I don't understand how drive modes work >:|
I could try asking them to update the software to see if that cures it, but I don't know if they'll do that purely on request.

Thats a tough one. Annoying intermitent fault. Personally get irritated by little things but i would let the fault develop and see what happens. Other than that do cheap basics check spark plugs and coil packs, battery voltage when charging and not charging.
You may be able to log throttle input on obd eleven but i dont know if it would show response time vs actual time.

Did you find a response for your issue. I have a similar one. I drive a Leon FR 1.4 and lately when drived in ECO mode, i get no power whatsoever when pushed the speed pad from freewheel if that makes any sense. The Rpm's are not respondig for 5-10 seconds and after that everything goes to normal.

As far as I understand, ECO mode works by reducing throttle response so it is normal for the car to feel slow in ECO mode. If it is slow to respond in all modes, then there are things you can do. You can buy a pedalbox such at the DTUK one which will speed up the response, or you can investigate if there is a fault with the engine that is making it respond slowly. I'd suggest getting the diagnostic codes read. It could be common faults such as coil packs, spark plugs or carbon build up around the valves.

Thanks Tass.

I know how each mode influences the drive but there is definitely a fault somewhere. I habe drove the car in Eco mode for a long time an this time the rpm are just dead. I get no power at all for 5-10 seconds. This is not just a slow response, the rpm's literally are not movig at all for that duration.

Hmmm... that does sound odd! Have you had a chance to get the fault codes read? You'd hope that something that pronounced would come up with a helpful code
