Hello! I have recently picked up an ex-demonstrator Cupra Born VZ First Edition which is an excellent car, but I am having a couple of issues with it. Although I paid for an AA car inspection before buying it, as the seller was a long way away from my home, they did not notice this issue with the seat.
The VZ First Edition has these limited edition 'Cup' seats as I understand it, which are electrically adjusted. The issue I have while driving is that often when setting off from a standstill e.g. traffic lights, the seat kind of rocks back. It's probably only moving a few mm but it's quite disconcerting and uncomfortable, and I'm sure this is not normal. If you get out and grab hold of the seat in your hands and try to move it, it doesn't really feel loose or anything.
I've been to my local Seat dealer and while their technician agreed he could feel the movement I'm reporting, they couldn't immediately identify a definite fault. They say that to do further diagnosis they will have to dismantle the seat etc, which is significant labour they will have to charge for if they don't find something they can make a warranty claim on. As it's not very feasible for me to travel back to the selling dealership I feel a bit stuck.
Any advice would be very welcome.
Ps. the issue I'm reporting is not the 'comfort entry' feature which can be turned on and off, where the motorised seat winds back to let you get in/out of the car and winds forward again when you put it in drive. This rocking movement happens during driving, whenever you stop and go and does not involve the motor actually being activated.
