I recently had my Ibiza pd130 re-mapped, running stage 1 at 175bhp and 280lbs torque. This killed the standard clutch, so I had a new up-rated clutch and standard DMF fitted.
After doing 60 miles I noticed the car was juddering when setting off, only very slightly but noticeable. It then got noticeably worse as the miles ticked up! I got to around 600miles and thought I would test it by putting my foot down! This caused the car to judder like hell at 2K rpm.
Took the car back to the garage where I got the work done and then reckon it’s the DMF, which I do too. The problem is now they said they will not fit another DMF because the torque is breaking it. I told them it did this before I even put my foot down! But they are still adamant the car broke it, so won’t fit another one. They will give me my money back, but what can I fit instead? I don’t won’t a SMF because they are so noisy. Maybe a better DMF? Has anyone ever had a standard DMF brake on a stage 1 map like mine? What can a standard DMF handle?
