Does anyone know if the Ecomotive grille can be fitted without causing any overheating problems to any other model? (I can't imagine the rads are different for just that model!) Is it completely blanked off? because it looks like there are slots in the side of the grooves of the grill to allow air through when stationary ( I'd imagine for when sat in traffic). I'm also after a price and part number. I've got a Jan 2010 TDi SE (1.9 105hp) in black. Thought it'd look quite good as i think Boardman's BTCC Leon has one and who know's may even eek out a few more MPG due to lower drag. (though i know the ecomotive has longer gears and a different underfloor tray). Any help would be appreciated!

i too would be interested in this, look quite smart vynl wrapped in carbon fiber

Not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure the 'slots' in the grille are just patterns to make it look more like the traditional grille from most angles... it's actually closed off.
Dunno whether that matters or not for cooling non-Ecomotive models though sorry.

Ive thought about this for a while,I was going to ask Special Tuning UK for the part number of if they could supply one

Not sure how it would affect cooling and air flow

Looking at the Leon Ecomotive tho its got a normal grille

Looking at that picture it looks like it may be an SE ecomotive. Alloys look the same as my SE anyway? Can't imagine they'd change the rads though for one model!? Who know's, someone must.:D

I think they sell 'Ecomotive Technology' models, which have the engine, long gears, auto start/stop and regenerative braking but no limits on options (like alloys) and no aero tweaks. Perhaps the one in the pic is one of these?

Anyway, I think those pics (SZ10 APR) were from an April 1st spoof article about a new prototype with a 500+ litre tank, that only needed refuelling at service time... so dunno how reliable the pic would be. ;)

Yeh your right the Reg plate isnt registered and i remember reading about that prototype

I carnt find a pic tho of an Ecomotive with the Flat Grill

Yeah I was thinking about popping down to see them cause they're only 20mins away.
They had the car parked up the other weekend in our local shopping centre and I couldn't see how air could get through...

Guessing they depend on the bumper grill for air flow to the intercooler/radiator?

any ideas on a part number for them?
I was sure the british gas leon's all had the closed grille

Sorry to bump this but is the concensus that the closed grill will NOT affect normal se models in terms of airflow and over heating?
