Hi recently purchased a mk3 Seat Leon ecomotive 1.6 tdi and was wondering if anyone has had theirs remapped and what kind of results they got,and if there are any downsides to a remap
Thanks.

Not mk3 mk2 but same engine but I'll be getting my 1.6 tdi mapped hopefully very soon (mainly due to the emissions fix that seat kindly stuck on without asking me).

I think generally it will go from 105 anywhere up to 145ish with just stage 1 leaving the EGR/DPF in place. Anything more than that you'll need to delete the EGR and gut the DPF probably. If you want any bigger gains I think some have fitted larger intercooler and turbo off some of the 2.0 TDI possibly. There's a guy on briskoda with a Yeti that got 200bhp I think but that was with a lot of mods and mapping.

Downsides are that obviously insurance will go up and depending on how you drive you will be putting more strain on some components potentially. (clutch/turbo etc.)

I'll let you know how mine is if I get it done in the next 2 weeks. There's quite a lot of people on other VAG forums seem to have had it done and seem impressed.

Thanks for the reply, yes my main concern was the strain it might have
On the clutch and the turbo.

Hi,

Yeah I got a stage 1 map from Shark Performance in the end, have done a good few thousand miles on it with no issues and the regens have reduced in frequency from the post emissions 'fix' map which is good.

Didn't get it on the rollers so not sure of exact power but on paper it should have around 135bhp and 295Nm it's certainly a bit quicker with more pull through the gears and less lag I find if you put your foot down hard it delivers the torque quite aggressively so traction off is better as it bogs down otherwise but generally if you dial the power in slowly it is fine.

I've been pretty happy with it, I was glad I got it done and it certainly doesn't feel like it's putting major stress on the motor but then I don't really drive it fast or hard to be honest and the extra power wasn't my main reason for the map.

HTH let me know if you have any questions.

Hi.
What gains did you see in mpg?
I've just bought a mk3 1.6tdi and although I like the car I'm disappointed with the economy, its way off what Seat quote.
Thanks
