elec windows/central locking probs

hi all, My cars developed a problem, the front electric windows have stopped working along with the rear doors central locking, I've checked the fuses and one was broken which I replaced and still nothing, I cant lock or unlock the car from the button on the drivers door card. Im thinking maybe the relay but as I haven't got a manual I haven't got a clue what im looking at. any body got any ideas of what the problem could be?

Have you have the car scanned with vagcom/vcds?

no,would that bring anything up?i thought they were only for engine faults?

It wlll show any fault the cars have a sensor for which is a damn lot on these cars

mine wouldnt lock any doors from the button, disconnected the battery for 30 mins and voila! fixed try that first

make sure you have your radio code tho

I had the problem that it happened because of the window engine was broken. With engine replacement everythink returned to work.

The window motor also contains the electronic control module for the door. Hence the reason for needing a different window motor if you want to add electric mirrors to a car that only has manual ones, for instance.
