Hi, I've just found out that my car has been built in 2021, due to collect in a few weeks. I read on another post that the V2 will now not come with electric tailgate if it was built after December 2020, can anyone confirm yhst!?
Thanks in advance.

According to posts on the forum, V2 manufactured from week 7 onwards, doesn't have electric tailgate and virtual pedal. Brochure was updated in January and price of the car dropped.

Yes that’s correct. I ordered my V2 when the current brochure listed the electric tailgate as standard equipment and the price I paid was the higher amount.

My V2 was due to be built in week 7 and once I found out about the spec change I asked Cupra to confirm that my V2 would still have the electric tailgate as I placed my order in December 2020.

They confirmed that it wouldn’t, however as I wasn’t happy and I had escalated it to the Cupra CEO they admitted their mistake and they are building me my V2 with electric tailgate as a one off! It is due to be built w/c 15 March.

Many thanks. Not a deal breaker for me but interesting to see that they discontinued it.

It was a bit of a strange decision to take it off when the model had only been around for about a month!

It was a deal breaker for me as I found the virtual pedal really useful on my Ateca and I didn’t want to go back to a manual tailgate (and my wife’s car has an electric tailgate and I didn’t want to be outdone by her!) ?

Hi, I have 2022 Formentor V2. Really want to get an electric tailgate kit installed, was wondering if anyone else has had one installed aftermarket and if say what was the price and what kit did you buy?

We have the electric boot lid on our facelift V2, but as far as i can tell not the virtual pedal.

Who did you get it installed by? Not overly fused about the virtual pedal, as long as there’s a button on the boot and inside the cabin and my key fob works with it I’m happy

It's original equipment. Works well as long as I remember its electric and don't try to close it manually 😃

Might be one for @East Yorkshire Retrofits . The electric tailgate is closely integrated with the build, so magic has to be done on a post fit. I know 5 years ago or so someone came a cropper in buying the bits but found they couldn't post fit enable it. If the mothership system in Germany doesnt have it built with it, it can't be enabled by dealers since their system screens show it wasn't fitted. Gateway?. This is where you need the experts @East Yorkshire Retrofit, that have the Vag tools.

It isn't like coding to get it to work although at that same time 5 years ago a German company was selling the parts. Twas a female engineer doing it at time, then subsequently found out why their visits to dealerships drew a blank. I'll be told if I'm wrong. 99% correct I reckon.

There is also the missing internal switch for the tailgate to lift it from inside the cabin. That has come up on recent models but not the Formentor I think unless that's been scrapped for safety reasons or something. I can lift the tailgate from a button up front in the Ateca which is handy to lift it for a fast get away when on double lines. That odd heart patient discharged from discharge suite, the nurse is their carrying the bags, patient waving to press the button.. what are they saying ?... push the button, push the botton🤣. Last time I used it. Comes in handy to save getting out. Don't think you will find that on the Tavascan or Terramar. The button in the manual but not fitted.
