you should be able to gain access from top on a asv engine
remove the egr pipe and feed tube in from top
there is a drilling going to the veins in turbo and leave cleaner in for 20mins
move actuator fully open and closed until it moves freely

.

This happened to my dads car recently.... he put the millers stuff in and replaced the MAF and so far so good

NEED HELP i own a pd150 and it drops into limp mode at any time it wants its in awsomome gti now as i was told it was the turbo failing (Vains sticking) so new turbo Hybrid one And still the same it you turn the key off and back on its all ok??? oh no codes on the vag com

Replace the Maf... Doesn't always throw a code on and it cured my dads

Why did they fit a new turbo?! That's just mental! The car needs a proper diagnoses, not just random expensive parts thrown at it.
A tiny leak in any of the vacuum pipes or boost pipes can cause limp mode, improper adjustment of the actuator, a slightly sticky N75 valve etc etc. Find someone with vagcom and do some logs, groups 3 and 11 for a start. That'll show the maf and boost.

I'd also go back and get the old turbo and sell it, they only need a bit of a clean. The only thing that really kills them is bad seals or bad bearings.

After a long time with this problem on my fr tdi i'd have to agree with you. People are always very quick to say its the turbo but it could be one or a combination of any of these things perhaps others too.

I'm sick and tired of over taking people doing 40 in a 60 and turbo cuts out, oncoming traffic get annoyed too.
Tmrw i'm gunna buy some mr muscle, millers but firstly i'm going to clean my egr and check the vaccum hoses for leaks.
I'll let you know and thanks for all the info.:funk:

car fixed now the wiring loom to the MAF was faulty creating a high resistance making it go into limp mode with no codes just an additional there was lots of smoke on tick over and low revs on boost wes ok hope this may help some of you
