Hi all,

Had a bit of a nightmare with the K1. It's a 58 plate and only had it about 8 weeks, a couple of weeks ago the Engine management light came on and after a few days went off then a few days later came back on...basically we took it to the local Seat dealers and they checked it out and then changed a sensor which solved the problem.

A couple of weeks later the same light came up, after further researcha nd following the Seat protocol it turns out that there is a problem with the wiring loom, they appear to have tracked the fault which means that they have to replace part of the wiring loom and take most of the interior and dash out. This means they are having the car for 2 weeks.

Currently the the dealers ahve given me a Mazda Poo...I mean two...to drive around in. It's not the best of cars to drive around in for 2 weeks and I'm really annoyed with the way I've had to waste my time with trying to solve this problem over the past few weeks on a car that is not even 3 years old. I wouldn't expect this from a VAG car!

The dealers (Colliers in Tysley - Birmingham) have been good however is there any way of getting some sort of compensation/gesture of good will from Seat for the hassle I've had with the car since we purchased it?

Any thoughts would be welcome.

Cheers

Rob

I had the same problem with my 08 plate when I bought it brand new. Was ok for 3 months then engine management light, came back with unknown error. Car was in 11 times and had various sensors changed inc the turbo!

Turned out it was a wiring harness fault, they replaced that and never got any compensation. Was given a Ibiza 1.2 courtesy car which was crap!

I very much doubt you are entitled to como. They are fixing it for free and giving you transport whilst they do so. What do you want, blood?

Another one !
My previous 2006 TFSi Sport had the same wiring loom issue & also had to be replaced.
SEAT know this is a common fault, so they should offer a free extra service or something ?
