Long ago i noticed my engine is tilting on the left towards the trans side. I thought maybe a mount collapsed so i changed all my mounts (engine, trans and middle) to stiffer reinforced vibratechniks mounts. Again i noticed the engine tilts on the trans side. Has anyone noticed this? is this a problem or its just the way the engine sits in the bay? Pictures show my black 1.4 before and after i changed the mounts and the yellow one i a friends that seems level to me

Hello there,

Some engines do tilt back slightly towards the bulkhead, and others can sit slightly off set to one side.
Looking at both photos of your car and your friends one, yours does seem to be on more of a tilt to one side.
Your friends engine is only just on a very very slight tilt to one side, but yours does look more tilted.
To be honest the only time I've ever seen this on such a large tilt is when something is lose or warn / broken or not fitted seated correctly.

I would check everything is tight underneath and bolted up correctly,
including the main front subframe.

Other then that is to compare the underside of yours to your friends car,
possibly even measure the distance from engine / gearbox to chassis leg, and see how much the difference is, if any ?

I've attached a photo image from SEAT Etka below, it shows the subframe and engine / gearbox mounts and fixing brackets.

Hope this helps
Si
