ok, chipping the ecu is expensive for the gains received does anyone else have any tips or mods for quick easy horse power ?

tuning coast money mate bay cheap bay twice
or do chip full exhaust and fmic and leave it there.ones you started it`s hard to stop.you always on the hunt for more power
if you think chip is expensive i would say to you leave it and do nothing

wat engine is it? if 1.8t then i dont think there will be a cheaper better way for more power other than a remap?

ecu remap is the best bang for buck upgrade you will do

That and WMI imo Still seems to be overlooked by many

does wmi make that much difference on a road car ? or is it really only for the 1/4 mile boys

Potentially a lot of difference (15-20 BHP in my case) if you have the car mapped to suit. Depends if you want to use it purely to cool intake temps and complement your intercooler or adjust the ignition timing for more power too.
