Went out for (another) country road drive at dusk last night and thought I'd have a go at turning the ESP off. What a difference !!!

All of a sudden the car feels more powerful and furious! Its like it went into overdrive or something !! So [B)]

I much prefer it this way although I have to watch the torque steer. The steering is soooo light under acceleration!

So......once you have got more confident in your abilities, try turning it off. I recommend it when you want to rag it a little (after proper warm up procedures of course)

The ESP shouldn't effect the torque steer, but it also switches the traction control off which is a bit over enthusiastic IMO. I leave it on in bad weather to help with grip but in weather like this I've found my thumb seems to hit the ESP button when I take the handbrake off ;)

always always always off!
but i am a confident driver and had track and advanced driving experience, i feel i can control accelaration and cornering better than the car, i prefer to drive with the bit of slide and that bit off wheel spin to keep in boost and to create the perfect launch!

Following on from this. When I was taking my mates for a spin to show of the new beast, following the "f**k me" and "Jesus christ it's fast" comments (p-torque remap) I got the comment, the car feels faster in third than in second. As it's very rare if I punch it in second that I don't get wheel spin and a spasticated TC light. I have to say, I'd agree, flooring it in second, changing up again then flooring again, pick up does seem quite similar. I'm assuming this is down to the traction control bogging down the car (also running standard P-Zero tyres).

I'll shut it off and give it a try if people reckon it might help? Well, at least in the summer weather!

Its alot of fun with it turned off, I generally leave it on to help save tyres. It always gets turned off for those traffic light scenarios !!
