Excessive turbo lag

I have a Cupra R 210, ever since I've owned it, about a year now, it hasent felt quite right. The turbo lag seems very excessive, especially at low revvs. And the transition from off boost to on boost, 1500-2500rpm is incredibly unsmooth. Of course a certain amount of lag is expected however after a while of running it with an open cone filter I put it back to standard and it felt incredible. So responsive and not sluggish at all. This slowly wore off though even with the standard filter on it, I now run it with the cone again and putting it back to standard has no effect. No garage has picked up on it, but it really does not feel right. There are no boost leaks (All boost leaks fixed when remap was done a month ago), its not down on power at all. DV diddent make a difference. No fault codes, but its definiatly not right. Would really appreciate any ideas?

The two key things you need to check are the n249 valve which you can bypass to be sure that's not a problem, the bypass is simple enough, you'll see the vac line from the dumpvalve goes to the n249 valve, take the vac line off the n249 and straight to the nipple under the inlet manifold.

You will also need to check your n75 valve, probably best to do a log with vcds and check the duty cycle figures. It's possible your n75 may be down and just running actuator pressure, although, you'd expect a fault code...

Do you have a boost gauge ?

You can expect it to feel laggy at low revs as the turbos doing little. Best bet is to find someone with vag com and log the actual and requested boost.

Did you disconnect the battery when you swopped the filters?

What fuel?

Whos map?

I dont have a boost gauge, would you suggest getting one to see how its boosting? Its an AMD remap, they fixed a boost leak whilst it was there, which helped a little. But im finding its worse some days and better others. Which suggests to me a kind of limp mode perhaps, maybe something to do with the N75. The N75 has been looked at though by AMD and they sorted out a leak on it that threw up a code, again, hasent fixed the problem. May try the n249 bypass if you reakon it will help. Cheers

If it feels night and day different Id also suspect limp mode for some reason. Did they use a smoke machine when testing for leaks?
