Exhaust surround...wrap or remove?

Milltek's being fitted tomorrow so I'm looking for some answers as to what to do with the standard surround. Is it removable or will it need a bit of vinyl attention?

The chrome bit you mean? That has to be taken off when the milltek is on

I think its just slotted in iirc...too big to have on with the exhaust though..mines just lying about in the garage

Isn't it held in by a screw, I know when I looked at mines there was one holding it in as mines is squint and it annoys me but wouldn't adjust right...

Yeah it could be held by one screw...didnt really look properly. To hace it on with the exhaust you would have to sand the surround down to a minimum

I think a little bit of carbon-surround would finish that section off just sweet after the miltek is fitted. Look forward to seeing the pics and hearing your opinion.

Dont know if there is an off-the-shelf product that you could buy. Wonder how difficult it would be to make a template and mould a surround?

Probably easy enough? Make a mold from the existing surround. Mate worth looking into but as said the milltek doesn't fit with the surround still in place so it would need to be shrunk down

Best to remove it. It will look a lot better if you spray the diffuser gloss black too.
Also it's quite heavy, why the extra weight?
