Exhaust tips on FR petrol

Just noticed when cleaning the Leon fr that the exhaust tips each of the outlets has a hole drilled into it. Is it to fit a shiny outer tip to make it look nicer?

Just noticed when cleaning the Leon fr that the exhaust tips each of the outlets has a hole drilled into it. Is it to fit a shiny outer tip to make it look nicer?

It's probably to let water droplets to leak out.

Also the factory mufflers have a small hole in them to let water out
