has anyone recently had a phone call about renewing their warrenty, not from SEAT but from motrway insurance who are governd by Budget, just wondered cos it seems odd that they cover me even after a year since my warrenty expired and that my car has been modified

I haven't but this sort of call isn't un heard of, will cost you tho ;)

you can pay for warranties from a number of companies any time during ownership. (dependant on company / price) even if warranty has expired.

as for the modified bit, they wouldnt turn you away, as i suspect they could avoid much of the potential payouts due to the mods!

well i was offered 18 quid a month to cover everything up to £3000 worth of damage everythin except windows, brakes, tyres and battery

had a call from them saying my warranty was about to expire - wrong. ok sir when did it expire - it hasn't. ok we'll updated our rec - put phone down.
hate these people that surf for business, if they can't get the facts right they don't get the business.

12 Months Elite cover
Claims Limit (per claim) = £5,000.00 for £218.90

just been quoted by https://www.surfandprotect.com/Motor/warranty/default.asp

has any body used them

Seems good value, My 2 year ELise policy limited to £1K per claim was £600 and that was the cheapest, very few would even quote.

Our lasses i due to expire in March so might be worth a punt.

Check labour rate limits, they often will only cover upto £28/hour or so thus not much use on a high tech piece of kit like a LCR

I have had a quick check of this warrenty and have a few concerns...

1 policy underwritten by AXA, I has a big problem getting my Concours Elise repaired where I wanted following a crash when insured with AXA, they wanted to take it to their approved repairer over 100 miles away, they had never even seen he bespoke flip paint finish or have any idea how the finih had been acheived but they could mathc it by blowing in to t next panel, etc. I ended up having to pay fo rthe repair after being of the road or 8 months and eventully got my money (£thousands) back after a further 2 months!

2 condition 5 states they will only pay the labour rate agred with their approved repairer, how much is this? Would you be happy with having your pride and joy repaired by someone who has neve worked on one of your vehicles? If your chosen repairer charges more than the approved limit you foot the bill for the difference

3 they charge a contrib on repairs (condition 7)

I stopped after this but would check what parts they fit e.g used parts or none SEAT parts?
