NO!
I didnt even mention my problem to the dealer they told me about it and ordered the parts, is there not another dealer you can visit?

Well if they can't sort it I am going to have to go to Ted Johnson's.... Autoworld are hopeless they seem to have no idea. This is there last chance as it is easy to get to them....

Definitely the fans only work on full speed nothing at slow. Tried it at idle at work and it fires up..... stops and almost as soon as the fans stop spinning it fires up to full speed again. Think I might take a print out of these threads and give to them at the same time. Will definitely suggest they contact SEAT UK to find out as they don't seem to do this either!!!

Just back from the dealers again and the result is that it needs a new A/C compressor which is now on order from Spain.

Just to clarify:

If when sitting stationary with your climate on and both engine fans come on at full chat for a few seconds and then turn off for a few seconds and then on again - you have a problem. No question.

Ive been to the dealer and the techy there said straight away i need new fans, so car is booked in for the 19th. fingers crossed this cures it, will keep you all informed.

cooling fans...

Thanks guys for this valuable information. I wouldn't have even know this was a problem before reading these threads. I thought it was normal for the fast fans to be constantly on every few seconds and even more so with the A/C on.

As a result of reading these threads, I took my 04 Cupra R 225 to Autoworld, told them what the problem was and they have now ordered replacement fans under warranty and I await to have them fitted.

The funny thing is though it went in a couple of weeks ago for a new multi-changer to be replaced under warranty and I actually mensioned that it seemed to get warm and the temp guage went over 90 degrees when sat in traffic... they said they had monitored this at the same time as replacing my new multi-changer and said there was no problem!! Muppets - watch Autoworld, they don't like paying out for things unneccessarily!

New Fans , New control unit, new compressor and still not fixed. Fourth time into the dealers again next week ! :wtf:

It's got to be something simple as there can't be much left to replace.

Holy sh*te... you got that done quickly. I am still waiting for Autoworld @ Chesterfield to confirm my fans have come in so they can whack them on for me! Well done Bruce!

hahaha I probably got your fans mate.... bit of a VIP at Autoworld Sheffield since they screwed me around with my wheel bearings! :)

Although must admit they certainly seem to have improved there customer care... well for me at least. Good luck hope it gets sorted soon Rrr.

Hello mate, it's Adrian from 3A's - can't believe it's still not sorted!! This getting done in horley or westerham(sp?)

Time for a proper inspection by Seat UK technical if they still can't find the fault - I get really annoyed when technicians work their way through the options for replacing easy to get to parts rather than actually spending the time working out where the fault lies.....still at least a new ac compressor means you're not low on gas any more :D

Cheers
