The flywheel figure of Ryan's old car may well be 386bhp on a plot, but it also showed 340bhp at the wheels, same as any other properly set up S2+ Leon Cupra. Fact.

At the end of the day, not one of the posters in this thread have the fastest mk2 Leon and none of them are even close. The fastest cars from everything I have seen and read tend to be in Turkey/Romania/South Africa. The poster from South Africa with his 12.78 has the fastest 1/4 mile time for a K04 Leon from all the 1/4 mile times I have seen and Owen has the fastest time over the 1/4 mile from all the UK numbers I have seen - he did an amazing job getting that time at Crail being honest - clearly he has some skills.

I would imagine that a Revo car will be faster than a GIAC car ultimately based on the ET's for GIAC vs REVO and it will be interesting to see how properly set up WMI can work with a K04 Cupra.

My comment which was very relevant to this topic has been deleted. What the hell has the forum come too!! Right down the pan i think!

mines running about 340 bhpish and thats at the wheels...(i think) ( getting it rollered this week hopefully)

Missed this.

The time I got was in my old car. I used brand new tyres when I got the 12.951 - semi slick tyres but as they were new, they hadn't given a surface to beat 2.25-2.3 on the day as memory serves. 2.07 is fantastic . Well done  I know Owen did 2.10 or 2.15 with R1R's and I know low 2.1's are doable with 888's.

The detail on topping out 4th is also something I found. Changing to 5th slows you down with the extra change, and even changing from 3rd to 5th negates time due to not getting the benefit of 4th.

What were your terminal speeds?

Thanks for the response Al. My best terminal speed was 114mph. Have you guys tried Hoosier semi's in the UK ? They work brilliantly. I have tried BF, 888's, and MT, but have found the Hoosier to be the best off the line. The GIAC K04 G6 that ran 11.8 in the US ran with the same tyre.

Do you get the Cupra with DSG tranny in the UK ? Our DSG G5 GTI K04 shop car with the same output as my Cupra ran a 12.0 trapping at 122mph.

You'll get on mate. The last three years i've payed up around Jan, Feb time and it's been fine. No guarantee it won't get booked up, but I doubt you'll need to book up now..

I very much I doubt you have had a 12.00 with a K04 unless you are running NOS! No K04 will see a 12 flat unless you have 500bhp big turbo or running stage 2 or 3 NOS kit with it, FWD!

I have spoken to people over and over and most don't like the realities of what a stage 2+ street car really can and not run on the 1/4 mile, my guess will be a 12.8 no more then this unless again you running a 4wd which will touch and go on a 12.6 S2+!

Best times made in Scotland so far was AL & Owen with a 12.999 and a 12.951 and yet these cars was striped to save weight and the only way to make better times will be with a weight loss some where! All the necessary mods are done to suit the S2+ and yet its still a huge mind game if it could be done, 12.7! We can only claim to have done it but no prove? Sorry if I cum across arrogant but I like to live with reality and not just guessing what times I will try and run at the next 1/4 mile raceway! ;)

Or some big fat-ass drag radials.. :D
Like you say mate, high 12's/low 13's is about as fast as you will go in a stock turbo Cupra without going super daft, or running race rubber.
To run 12's in a stock weight, stock road tyre, Stage 2+ K04. You will need a DSG Ed30.. Not possible in a Cupra unless it's a Mickey Mouse 1/4 mile strip..
If I had lobbed some slicks on my old Golf and stripped it, I reckon a low 12 would of been possible.. But where do you stop?!?!

Out of interest, are you the fella on Youtube with all the Crail vids?

Correct, even though if you use slicks you will find it hard to make 12.7 in FWD and for a DSG it only help with a .200 of a second on a 1/4 mile, .200 of a second gives you a car length ahead of your manual cars but not always the case. The risk in using big fat slicks will have a devastate out come on your gear box which I don't recommend. Even though you will find it hard to brake a record of 12.7. If you think about it its only a .300 of a second but its 3 to 4 car lengths.

A stock Cupra with a S2+ with R888 will only make a 12.8 and that's with a striped out car, no FWD with a K04 can make better times unless its a 4WD.

Yes I am the fella with the Crail vids. :funk:

Out of interest mate, what settings do you use when running? I always ran mine on boost 8 or 9 when running at Pod until towards the end where I had a play about.
The first time I ran 12's I did a 12.97 @ 114.2 and this was running Boost 7, Timing 7 and Fuel 7. This was also short shifting to 2nd gear very quickly too.. You can hear it on this vid..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bp_jtWDuAQ

These conditions weren't great AT ALL and I only managed a 2.44 60ft on that run. I then only managed to get to Pod once more before the Golf went, where I removed the back seats and managed a 12.7. This however was with a 2.27 60ft and in better conditions, which made me wonder whether a 12.7 could of been possible in perfect conditions (better start) in full road trim. Just never got the chance unfortunately :(
The lower boost settings definitely helped though as it was less aggressive and you didn't spin all the power away as much.. Worth a try bud? ;)

I don't sense any arrogance..just a case of sour grapes because u haven't been able to run the times.

To each his own...if u want to run with street tyres, that's your choice. If I want to run with semi's that's up to me.

Our golf 5gti ko4 ran a 12.051 and a 12.054. The car has no NOS, and is FWD. the only weight reduction was removal of the spare tyre. Tyres used were Hoosier semis in 245/45 17

Google 'fastest k04 gti' and u will find the video on YouTube as well as the APR website, so there's the proof for you. The car makes 400hp at the crank and 600Nm.

Honestly, get over yourselves. Just because u can't run the time, doesn't mean no one else can. I will post up a vid of the 12.7 which my Cupra ran.

All these runs were at official Motorsport South Africa events. MSA is affiliated to the FiA.

GIAC G6 gti ran an 11.8 in the US on ko4...that was with weight reduction tho. So u definitely don't need 500hp to run such times.
