Faulty parking sensors

My 2002 1.9TDi has developed a parking sensor fault where the parking sensor button flashes, and a long continuous beep comes rather than the distance sensitive pings. The dealer wants £50 plus vat for diagnosis, then parts and labour on top, which seems a bit extreme. I suppose it might me a a simple thing like a fuse. I am not technically minded (sorry!), but I can see where the appropriate fuses are, so:

Does this sound like a fuse?

Are they easy to remove? How would I check if OK. Is it obvious if blown?

Does it sound like something else? Are they generic parts or VAG only?

Grateful for any advice

Cheers

Parking Fault

Hi mate.....cant offer a cure but I've got the same poblem on my 52 plate TDi,will be reading daily to see if you get it sorted but I can say that I've checked all my fuses because of another fault I had on mine and it hasn't cured my parking fault,I will be getting to grips with mine when I get the time and if you haven't sorted yours I'll let you know what I find
