I've started noticing when idling, sat at a set of lights or on the drive feels like the engines rocking every few seconds, I don't know think this is right but I don't know if I'm just paying too much attention to it now I've noticed it? I've got a 170 FR, its standard but I'm relatively new the mk2 scene and was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this as it's bugging the hell out of me. Cheers

Alot of mk2's suffer with rough idle. Could be the common problem or something else. I know that's not much help but I'm sure the guru's will be along soon. Google seat leon rough/lumpy idle and there will be loads to read.

Is the PD engine or CR engine? My CR does it sometimes you can feel it slightly when you're sitting in it but I always just assumed it was the fact it's diesel.

It's not the dmf on mine anyway, had one fail before and I'm certain it's not that. Plus I'm only on 35k miles...

PD engine, DR crosses my mind but I didn't want to even think of that because of the price. Rings true though does do a few jumps in 1st if accelerating slow... what happens if the DMF fails?

Has the timing belt been changed recently? My engine was idling like a pig shaking and jumping and chucking loads of smoke out the back, turns out the exhaust cam slipped when the belt was being fitted so I had that corrected/adjusted and now the problem is sorted.

PD has always jumped in first, there are more posts about jerkyness than tyre choices on this website lol.

It could just simply be that your engine mounts are worn and need replacing, not a seat but happened to me on my megane and i had the same feeling.

Lol cheers Graham good to know the bank might not be being emptied any time soon, think I might have a little play at the weekend see what I can see (if anything) is there anyway to test the engine mounts in situ?

Not exactly testing but you may be able to visually inspect them to wear, but exact location are beyond me.

My pulsing was cause my engine rocking, can you see or make your engine rock in the bay?

Just gave it a little rock, doesn't have much resistance! Think this might be the issue if it's easy to rock by hand it's going to be doing it worse with some torque on it. Think the engine mounts are to the left arm nd right of the engine might see how much new mounts and see if that sorts it out.

Hopefully the engine mounts on the desiel isn't too bad I replaced them of an old golf mk4 jacking up the engine to take the load and swapping em out wasn't too bad
