just got an 00 cordoba 1.4 and need help with a few things.

when im taking out the clutch it doesn't start to work until its about 3/4 of the way out but it goes all the way to the floor. is this normal and if not is there any way to tighten it?
can you put a cd player in these cars? do you have to take out the screen or how do you go about it?
the back wind down window is broke. the wire snapped, is there anywhere i can get another one?

any help appreciated

THANKS

Clutch bite point is automatically adjusted, as long as it's working I'd leave it be...
Yeah you can put CD players in anything, which screen are you referring to though, is yours a 6K or 6L Cordy?

a new cable/regulator will solve this.

what do you mean 6k or 6l?

its the screen in the middle of the dash with the time and the radio and other stuff on it. if i took it out how would i turn on the air conditioning because its connected to the screen.

does anyone know if there's a way to turn on the screen?

It's a 2000 plate bud with that annoying stereo heater combined crap lol.

To the OP, there's a faq in on the home page somewhere but here's some pics to help too.

The other places I've sen them is either below the steering wheel in the tray thing that covers the fuses or some people do away with the centre vents and stick it in there.:)

On the Ibiza of This shape there is a plug on the left hand side of the boot under the carpet to plug in the standard 6 disc VW cd changer which is controlled by the original head unit. Saves all the cutting of the dash etc

Yeh but the after market stereo sounds sooo much better, it'd be good if there was a way to solder in a better amp chip into the standard unit.:)

will i be able to turn on the heater if i do this?
how do you wire it up to the radio and the cd player, there's only one of each lead to plug into them?

is there any way to turn on the screen, mine just has the outline of a car with off in the bottom left corner?

thanks

My heater all works like normal but it sounds like your screen might be damaged or there's a blown fuse. As for the wiring just take the original speaker wires and use a fused live from the battery and an earth to the chassis somewhere.:)

sorry but could you explain it a bit more.i don't no how to take a wire from the battery to the radio.

is it just one wire or is there more than one? do i have to get a connection to wire it into, to plug it into the radio?
could i take a wire from the fuse board?

do you know the name of the thread that tells you how to do this. was looking for it but couldn't find it.

Some people including me run a positive wire from the battery into the car and use this to power an after market stereo then just take a wire and screw it to the bulk head under the dash somewhere for and earthing point. You can then use the standard wiring for the speakers which plugs into the rear of the standard headunit, just need to lengthen them. If you're not sure though there should be a plug for a cd changer in the boot down the left hand side behind the carpets, you just get a cd changer and whatever adapter it needs.:)

If you don't even know that part I would get someone to help you bud, don't want to wreck the car by frying stuff eh? Either that or go for option 2 and just fit the cd changer in.:)
