Afternoon, I really need some help if possible. I've got a 2014 Seat Ibiza 1.4 Toca. I've had about 9 years.
Long and story short I barely used it last year did about 4000 miles and it was sat a bit. Also neglected to service for 2 years. Neglect aside. I now have the following problem.
The car has a rough idle. If I have the air con it sites about 750 - 800 rpm with a slight judder like it's misfiring.
If I don't have the air con it sits about 600 - 650 rpm and the engine runs like a sack of potatoes at idle.
Soon as you are driving and at a speed aside from a wheel bearing whine I am aware off. I pulls along lovely.
If on a cold engine the car will start and sit at about 1000rpm sometimes but soon as you drive it a little or turn the engine off it then has trouble starting and the rough idle remains.
So far I've done the following with a friend who is also a mechanic.
I've probably spent upwards now of up to £400 - £500 trying to repair this thing and I am at a loss. We've run an ODB2 through it and that reports no faults. Not had VAG com reader on it yet as I need to take my car into a Seat Dealer and update the owner details to get the engine code for my VIN Number before they will even speak to me. Plus I don't really want to pay their prices.
Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with this model Seat? If there is something I am missing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have videos.
Many thanks,
Damien

- Changed the Throttle Body and done alignment.
- Changed the Injectors
- Tested the Coil Packs and swapped out each one. Made no difference
- Had the Cambelt tensioner and pulleys done and the belt has been shown to be in time.
- Changed the fuel filter.
- Changed the Spark Plugs
- Oil Filter and Oil change. Mechanic chose to put 10w60 in as a thicker lubricant. I know the car normally takes 5w40
- Tried the EVAP Purge Valve seems to be okay.
- Done a compression test on the cylinders all coming out at about 275
- Tried a Camshaft Sensor.
- Had a new battery
- Ran some Redex through it.
- EGR Valve
- Fuel Pump
- Crankshaft Sensor
- Lambda O2 Sensor
