I was looking at brakes last night and came across a set of adapters which supposedly adapt the fiat turbo brembos to fit the mk4 golf platform with an lcr size disc. I've done a little research and it seems people have done it on mk 1 and 2 golfs but no proof on mk4 platform. Ill upload the link later. ive looked on here and people say no because theyre lug mounted, as opposed to...? The ad has a hub with a calliper mounted onto a mk4 golf hub, anybody any info as these callipers sell for £100 instead of £300+ cheers.

Aren't the Fiat Coupe brembos the same as LCR ones?
And also the same as the MK1 RS...
All the pads are the same so I'm assuming they are!

I have run a 20VT and there is a lot of metal poking out into the inside of the wheel well, if that makes any sense. ie your issue would be wheel clearance

I have a MK2 Golf and have fitted 312mm brakes from an Audi S3 which share the same braking from the Mk4 etc i used 6mm spacers and they bolt straight on, so can confirm it works. Only issue would be there after choice of wheels that will clear callipers etc

As far as in aware they share the same pads but the mounting points are further apart on a golf, they also use no carrier and bolt straight to te hub. Whereas the LCR brembo uses a carrier between the hub and carrier.

I know the MKI Focus RS and the LCRshare the same brakes but not sure about the Fiat? The S3 brakes arnt much cop on cars as heavy as ours as the S3 boy up grade to LCR Brembos.
I'm suprised you want such tame brakes any way! I thought you'd be into Porsche 6 pots behind those rims!

Thats the link, and I've emailed the seller, he says it's a mk4 golf platform hub.

I take it LCR hoses will fit, as I am sure I've read somewhere that they will. The only issue I can see, is in the photo it's only half a calliper.... so it isnt 100% that the other side of the calliper will fit over the 323 LCR disc? I think I will try it to be honest, but by the time I've done, new seals and refurbing callipers, discs, adapters, and hoses, it will be £500 any way....

If I was looking to upgrade to Brembo's I'd go with the fiat calipers and those adapters/carriers
Way cheaper than the LCR setup

Too late, got some callipers, and the adapters coming! I'll take my time refurbing the callipers, so I can get discs, pads, hoses and spacers. I will do a trial fit when they arrive, to try and establish the size of the spacers I'll need, I'll post pictures on here for anyone that wants to see them.

Hello, yeah those ones, also some Alfa Romeo ones fit, and maybe ford focus rs, but they're alot more expensive.... I bought the ones that sold about an hour ago for £92. I'm watching those and a set of red ones to see how much they go for. Seals sell for £25 on eBay, so about £115 all together, then I'll need LCR hoses, I'm going to get braided, £60, EBC Discs which are £120, and I think I will get mintex pads which are £30.

I think the callipers will need a little bit of modifying, but I'll update this thread as and when I know what needs to be done. Could be a nice little mod after it's done.

As far as in aware they share the same pads but the mounting points are further apart on a golf, they also use no carrier and bolt straight to te hub. Whereas the LCR brembo uses a carrier between the hub and carrier.

How certain are you the pads fit? because I have bought some EBC yellowstuff, LCR fitment, and if they fit I still don't know if I'll use them because apparently they're rubbish...?

Anyway, for anyone that cares, I recieved my callipers yesterday.

Used the work sand blaster and they ended up like this, about 99% of the paint off.

Got the brackets in the post too, a few days ago.

This is what I've spent.
£100 - Callipers and shipping
£60 - Adapters and shipping
£165 - EBC 323mm LCR drilled discs, EBC LCR yellowstuff pads and shipping
£60 - FULL calliper rebuild kit, everything included!

So, with the lines off bill, £50 thats £500 all together, but I'm getting as close to near as you can get to a brand new 4 pot brembo set up, with good pads on a 323mm disc setup.

Keep popping in, I'll keep this thread updated!
