Finally found an airbox

For just £10 from the local breakers

Its quieter, drives smoother, has more torque at low rpm and makes better mpg

I will put a nice panel filter in there of some sort but not sure what way to go...

K&N , green cotton, pipercross, jetex

i love the noise mine makes,makes it a bit more throaty without being chavvy

Wouldnt bother with a performance panel filter, alot of money for no gain on a stock car generally.

The one i found is from a mk1 Toledo (its almost the same as a mk2 gti 8v one)

mk3 golf 8v gti is a different shape all together

I found my old 8v responded much better to a standard airbox too, didn't sound as good as the cone it came with but the smoother power delivery made up for lack of intake noise.

i still need to get an airbox for mine, bought a mk3 cupra exhaust for it so might sound ok with the k&n on it once i change the exhuast. shame about the golf 1 been different, although i did find a black gti cupra sport in a local scrapyard last week, there just so dear for everything and even charge vat. *******s

Just bought myself a pipercross inductionkit to swap from my old K&N panel filter, are you guys telling me its better with the standard airbox?
