Fitting mk3 seats into a mk2

Hi guys, just a quickie...

I am after black half leather seats for my mk2 16v as the interior I have isn't the nicest looking really... Will the front & rear seats from a mk3 fit into a mk2? Also, what about the rest of the interior like the door panels? I guess the seats can be fitted but not so sure about the door panels.

Or did they make a black interior for the mk2?! Cos that would be even better

Yea the mk3 interior will fit, seats and door cards.... even the dash if you wish.

Mk2 leather seats were either the GTi or red tiger stripe Cupra ones.

There's the 8v cloth interior which is mostly black.

As far as i'm aware, the mk3 seats should be a straight fit. Rear doorcards should be fine, and the fronts should fit on the doors but i'm unsure about how they'll match up to the dash shape.

But as I haven't done any of the above, don't take my word for it! I know a couple of guys on here have changed the interiors about, see what they have to say

Even though the dashes are different shapes they be okay, (beeza gti) on here fitted the Mk3 seats & door cards into his mk2 and it was fine!

cheers guys, it was red or grey inserts i had the choice of when i had the money.

Must admit, im glad i chose red now.

The front door cards will fit but they dont match up properly to the dash. Don't think its that far out though.
Those seats look quality in your car David, I thought about getting red ones for mine but thought it might be a bit too much red. My grey ones do look good, were a bargain too compared to the prices I have seen others go for.

I ended up paying just over £200 for the rear bench, 2 fronts, mk3 gearknob and gaitor and mk3 steering wheel (if u noticed in the pics) with everything VGC.

You can also put Toledo seats in them

Would be about the same then. I paid £150 for mine last year just for the seats, in mint condition. All the others I have seen seem to be going for £250-£300.

Yeah, I have heard that they slide straight in.
