Just got back from getting splitter developed by Kev.
We went for a shape that follows the bumper line, nothing outrageous and it doesn't stick out any more than about an inch from the bumper. We experimented with this and found that as the bumper falls away so much from the part u see at the front to the bac, if it came out too far u could see too much of it. I hope this makes sense but Ill post pics as soon as I'm on wifi at home.

Here some pics

This should show how much it will stick out

Looks good mate the only thing I'd say I'm unsure of is where it joins the bumper at each side.
I think it may look better sitting flush with the bumper rather than sat back.
Not sure if it would just be a trap for all the crap of the day to sit in.
Opinions?

If it comes all the way out u can see way too much of it. Would be like a couple of inches to take up really. They do sit perfectly flush to the underside of the bumper tho so shouldn't be too bad.
There will be gaps in the middle section to allow air through though.

I like it but I think it needs some 'wings' at the side so it blends in with the bumper. Sort of like this one.

It was discussed but we ruled it out. Basically because of the the angle the bumper takes from grill to undertray, its a stupid angle and meant if we brought it out any further than we did it just looked massive.
In order to take the natural bumper line, which is already a nice shape, it needed to stick to the line all the way round, so if we put wings on the side it needed to come out a lot more at the front, which looked ridiculous.

I like it :)

Thanks, its worth bearing in mind that we didnt want it to look too ott and aftermarket, more like it could have been there from factory, which it probably should have given the distance the bumper is from the ground!

How long till I can have one? LOL

Hopefully a few weeks, the BTCC 1 is smoothed n nearly bodyshop ready, n this will go at same time. As soon as its ready ill go bac for test fitting n marking of holes so that when sold u dont have to guess where to drill.
It will be supplied with stainless bolts for fitting.

Shame. I understand what you're saying though. Think I'll reserve final judgement until the splitter is painted and fitted properly. Cheers for taking your car there to be used as a tester. Nice one! :)

No worries mate. It does look better than the pics may suggest, its hard to visualize a piece of wood held in place by bricks as something we may want permanently attatched to our cars
Ill update progress as soon as I know anything.

iv been going back looking at the pics of mine from yesterday all day and it keeps growing on me more and more, i think once its black it will be more subtle and look mean!

Yeah thanks for the taking the time and effort to develop a splitter for the facelift car mate.
As you say our bumpers are so high off the floor they could of had a splitter from the factory.
Looking forward to see your next pics with it done gloss black which will match your car nicely.
Also would look good on mine with my yellow and black combo.

ps thanks for the pm mate:)

Ur 1 looks good mate. I didn't realise how different the 2 bumpers were. We offered urs up n it was nowhere near! We tried to style it similar but it just wouldn't work so we followed the bumper Precisely. Wasn't as easy as Kev thought it was gonna b

Any chance of someone creating the pre face lift thread again with the pictures? Just a reminder in it that no buying talk

Another thing to be considered is that some cars have side skirts - it would be great if the splitter blended with skirts too.

Only other things I would have concerns over include fitting points and any harm to aerodynamics by adding this. Will be interesting to see the finished article though :)

looks really quite good, bit plain but stil very nice and much needed.
