This is the day I collected it

STANDARDISING
First thing I did was sell the genuine morrettes

And fit a set of standard mk1.5's

Next came a new bonnet.
Shame I couldn't run like this all the time

Much Better

Bought a standard mk1.5 front bumper then

Ripped the side skirts off to reveal the damage

Looks a totally different car already

Then came a standard mk1 rear bumper

MODIFYING TIME

Stage 1
Then came the new wheels. 17 x 7 Wolfrace Street Octane.

6k HID kit

Volt gauge in custom speedo surround

The Bishop smoothing the front bumper

Single din stereo conversion sprayed in Frozen white, white painted heater rings

Next came fitting of the coilovers, strut brace and all new bushes - Coilovers are FK AK Street

Doors smoothed and partly painted

Street modding at it's finest

All in matt black, with temp pro race 1.2's on it

Time for a new dash

Dark smoke window tints - fronts where taken off after ths picture

So the plan was to finish the bodywork and get the car painted for Mod Nats 2011, but the show was getting closer and closer and the goal was slipping further away. So The Bishop came up with an idea............

Stage 2

So we decided on new wheels and to wrap the car

Collected my new wheels and had Fred @FutureShock Audio spray them frozen white

18 x 7 BSA Bullets

Half way through wrap - Thanks to Ade @ CEGUK for supplying the vinyl

Front bumper and sill left

3 days before mod nats. Tuck away in a garage having the roof wrapped.

Wrap complete - Thanks to The Bishop and Jemma for all the hard work.

2 days before mod nats my interior arrives - Thanks to AlexBoy!
ST170 interior, custom stitched and embriodered with 2 headrest screens

Stayed like that for a while.

Off comes the wrap!!!!!!

Now I see this picture and I love it, but when I see it in red and white I like it as well.......

On holiday

Then came the next part. After driving 6 months on 3 buckled wheels I was glad to see this site at 8am one morning

TIME FOR STAGE 4 - WATCH THIS SPACE

THERE ARE SO MANY PICTURES I HAVE MISSED IN EACH STAGE, JUST GAVE A QUICK GLIMPSE OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST YEAR. IT HASN'T BEEN EASY BY ANY MEANS, FEW PROBLEMS, AND A FEW HISSY FITS BUT I AM HERE NOW!!!!

STAGE 4 - 2012 mods

So after dicking around

2012 mods have started

Off comes rear bumper

On goes new one, cut properly around the exhaust

Front bumper has had lower grille removed, cut the 4 slats, then removed the rad plastics to make it a proper wide mouth (haven't seen any others like this)

Fitted a tegiwa plate bracket then

Thats it for now, need to resmooth bumpers and doors, then paint.

Started the general shaping of the rear bumper smoothing

Also reskimmed the front bumper and corner stripe

Booked in for a new roof wrap weds

When you see the progression, the change is even more astounding! Top work, I must say, and it looks as though you've compromised.....nothing the whole time you've had the car! Well, other than the shape you bought it in. What does the previous owner think when he sees it then?

Wellllll, you've wasted less than he did! At least you've got something good looking out of it.

With your own hands is even more impressive! Would you rate vinyl then, or not? And how hard were the window tints to do?

window tints are easy enough, you need to buy decent quality tinting film I can link you if needs be.

Vinyl wrap.............ummm. It depends on the application. For me it was a cheap option £200 for the vinyl and wrapped it myself, a car like this would normally cost in the region of £700+. Bodywork needs to be flawless or this will show under the wrap, its good for putting on standard paint as it will protect in, down sides are when you stretch the vinyl around corners it pulls and gives like the orange peel effect, soon as some hits the door with theres it will scag. For roof, bonnet and any other applications its a really good thing to change the look of your car and can be a cheap alternative for spraying

Ahhh, I was going to grab one of the huge sheets off eBay and do my headlights at the same time as the rear quarters Linking would be appreciated, see what I should be looking at.

That was the reason I asked. Depending on the application, it can and does look good, but for other uses, it looks like it would be a challenge to make look good, just wanted confirmation. However, a new colour on the car for £200 plus your time, beats a £1k+ respray eh?

BTW, with all the recent posts written in textspeak or with appalling grammar, its nice to come across a 'newbie' who knows how to write coherantly Although I appreciate you're not new to forums

Well my new full repsray is costing £350 -£400. It's not what you know it's who you know

Regarding how I write, just easier and quicker, I know some people find it annoying never mind
