Folding door mirrors

Hi All

We are new here and must say what a great site. We have a mk2 leon cupra which is a fantastic car. Well this morning the passenger door mirror decided it wasnt going to unfold, the drivers side did but now wont go back into its folded position. So now have one mirror up and one down. I was just wondering if any of you guys have ever had the same problem. Sorry if this subject has been covered before.

Welcome to the forum....

The folding mirrors on my Cupra were playing up a couple of months ago, although they seem to be O.K. at the moment.

Try pushing the drivers one whilst holding the lock button on the key fob and see if it folds. That's how I got mine back in.

If you cannot get that to work, I'm afraid a trip to the dealers will be in order for you.

Hello and welcome. Not yet an issue on my mk2 but plenty of times on the mk1. Try gently persuasion by hand whilst the knob is turned. Alternatively back to the dealers.

as mentioned above try a little persuation but also lube with wd 40 should do the trick.

Hi welcome to one of the best forums on the net!

My passenger mirror occasionally did this I mentioned it at the last service and both got replaced under warranty. Are they noisy when they do operate? I didn't think mine were too bad until I had the new ones put on I have to look over my shoulder now to check they have folded cos I can't hear them!!!!!
