My car like most seat’s has footwell lights in the front that stay on when the headlights are on. I was just wondering if anyone knows if we can buy colour changing light bulbs for the footwell?

I know i could just buy led strip lights but i’m no good are hardwiring and don’t like the idea of having to plug them in to the 12v socket.

If we can’t get colour changing ones, I’ve seen some red ones on amazon, has anyone got any coloured bulbs in there car and do they look nicer?

Most people swap them for a Red or Blue LED, but they don't change colour. Apparently you can get OEM colour changing ones that are from an Audi, but it requires wiring an extra set of wires into a BCM module and enabling via VCDS.

It maybe easier to just use the power from the LED lights for an aftermarket LED strip.

Personally I'm happy with them just being red all the time and getting brighter when the door opens.

Think i’m going to get these bulbs for my footwell lights. I’m sure my number plate lights were W5W so is it the same for footwell lights?

Just looked at my footwell lights and couldn’t figure out how to open it to take a look at it. Is there a tutorial on this anywhere?
