Had a few SEATS with DSG with no issues, recently got a new Formentor and had some gear problems. No warning messages or error codes but intermittently when stationary and Drive or Reverse selected, as soon as you touch the gas pedal it jumps back into Park by itself and then cuts out. Only way to move the car is by restarting the car and holding down the gear switch in either Drive or Reverse while moving, has happened several times when parked or parking. Switching off and waiting then re-starting can usually clear it after a few goes. It's been back to the dealer but they can't find a cause.
Today I had a new weird thing with it - while driving I'd pulled in behind a parked car to allow another car to pass. Car was in Drive mode not Sport but displayed S1 on the dash and after moving off wouldn't change up until I pressed the gear switch down and then it reverted to D2, D3 etc. and drove normally. Is this a mechatronics issue?
