Hey people I should be buying my LCR this wednesday. It's a 52 plate, 210bhp with the Recaro seats and sat nav. It has 70k on the clock.
Is there anything I should be looking out for? ie any little probs that you always become aware of after u've bought it? anything I should be looking out with the sat nav?

Thanks

:)

Make sure the passenger footwell doesn't contain water :)
Full service History
Cam belt has been changed
Check brake pads
Make sure it hasnt been a write off in the past
All I can think of at the moment!

Otherwise enjoy :)

wot would water in the footwell mean? expensive to fix?
I'm getting a HP check on the car, that should be enough to see any previous reports, right?

Thanks:)

HPI check? That would do money side of things. Think RAC website offers a service for cat write offs...

Door seals are a common fault and easily fixed. If they are dodgy, you may have water leak into your foot wells. But then again, this can also be caused by the pollen filter.
Chances are though, it won't have this problem becuase the previous owner(s) should have sorted it for you

If it drives well, idles nicely and nothing odd is happening on the dash - i.e. temp gauge reading high, warning lights etc - then check for leaks above and any signs of obvious crash damage, such as panels not being aligned, bad spray jobs etc.

Otherwise, enjoy :D Let us know how you get on!

Ta

I should be sorting it on Wednesday and then driving it back from London, nice way of getting aquainted with the car!!!
Cant wait!!!

:D

I've only seen 2 so far and 2 Toledo Cupras, quite a few LC but yep not many Rs.
Anyway, I've got to make it out of London first!! I just hope the built in sat nav works...:p

I mite even cry, I've waited quite a few years for this!!
Worked through the whole Seat range!:D

Good luck getting out!

Im making the Journey up to Liverpool on Thursday. Ive one of the Red Toledo's knocking round with the Cupra kit on... looks lovely!

Im originally from South Liverpool... now live in the big smoke :(

theres a ovni yellow LCR for sale in liverpool by member Rossell. I think he wants 8.5k. I can vouch its a nice car ( or was when i had it). As it was mine beofre. And a member on here before that!

Might be worth a look.

Club-owned cars are often worth a good look, as many people who take the time to join clubs like this to find out more, also take the time to look after it properly. Plus you have an easy way of looking back through any problems or concerns the car has had ;)

Price

I originally wanted to buy one from a member but my budget was low (7K at first then with my wage 7.7) so I've had to shop around. This is one is £7700, everything fine with it (i've done all checks on it) , only snag is that it hasn't got the spare key

:headhurt:

quite happy that it's got the front and rear recaros and the sat nav:whistle:

on autotrader i could have got a platinum grey one with 82K for the same money but no warranty and standard speck.

hello mate, I think I might have seen yours, very nice indeed; have you still got it? Is yours with the square plate at the front?
wot engine is it?

Got It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, I am now a LCR owner!!!!!
I cannot believe it, what a fantastic car!! The drive is soo sporty and rather 'stiff', reminds me of my Cordy SX with the rolw cage!!

Anyway the car is gud but it needs some TLC. The alloys are battered, I will try and post some pics in the future but I cannot believe how you can kurb an alloy almost to the locking nuts level!!!
Anyway apart from that and the fact that it needs a gud clean in the inside it is fine, runs well, checked allbrakes, exhuast and engine and all is fine.
The recaro seats are excellent; I once said that after having my V5 with full leather I would never have gone back to cloth, but these are something else!!
The sat nav also worked and managed to get myself out of Witham with no problems.
The car is de-badged at the moment so I dnt know if to re-fit or leave them off.

Can someof you give me some tips on engine care and other things?
I already know about the starting and switching off procedure but what fuel, oil etc etc do u reccomend? How frequentl do you all change the oil?

......& tomorrow.................I'm going to name it

:D
