In my opinion Eibach pro-kit is not lowering enough. 2011LeonFR said too ; I use Eibach sportline and that's really good.

I hope that everyone who has / is going to lower their car has told their insurance company?

That's a major Mod and if you do not declare it and have a smash, most insurance companies will not honour a claim if they realise it's been changed.

In the current climate, I hear they will use any excuse to wriggle out of anything.

Undeclared mods will get you in a heap of trouble if you prang!

i went for eibach pro street s coilovers, ride quality is pretty good when only lowered 40-50mm and you have the ability to adjust them to whatever height suits you then

Car is booked in for lowering at star performance on thursday with Eibach sportlines and they are gonna pick it up and drop it off at my place of work for £325

BUT

1, A mate at work today told me that the ride will be terrible, The car will scrape over speed bumps, if anyone goes in the back it'll rub on the wheels.

2, Has anyone had this service with Star performance? I've only heard good things but i'm a bit worried about my car being driven by someone else

Having 2nd thoughts now so if anyone can help i'd be appreciative.

Sportlines don't scrape on speed bumps around mine. Nor does it matter if people are in the rear. Sportlines are sound!

Read the posts above, your mate is talking rubbish in this case.

The MK2 Leon has high clearance standard - for example my FR isn't as low at the front with sportlines as my old LCR was as standard, the splitter on that took a battering everywhere I went.

Ride quality wont really be effected, the old FR's have a spine breaking ride anyway. And yeah dont listen to your mate, what does he drive a Prius? :D

Lol very close he has an avensis.

Any rubbing problems that you've encountered?

Just want as many opinions as possible really.

Thanks folks

My Fr only scraped over speed bumps with 3 adults in the back. Even then it was just the small plastic flap things in the midlle - look under and you will see them. (you can see them under the rear door in my sig picture!)
The ride is anything but terrible.

As for star perfomance. I wouldn't worry if I were you. They are a top bunch. Have had several cars worked on there. It's a 200 mile round trip for me and I don't think twice about it!

No i havent had any rubbing problems and ive had 5 in the car, admittedly it was pretty low to the ground but isnt that the idea? There is still about an inch clearance between tyre and arch with the sportlines anyway so dont worry yourself, as i said before i put Prolines on my pre-FL and i regretted it, glad i put sportlines on this time!

Yep I had it done yesterday and I'm really happy with it. It doesn't actually look lowered tbh, it just looks like it should if you can understand??

Ride quality hasn't been affected as far as I can tell tbh.

I'll get some pics over the weekend!
