If fuel doesnt matter then I'd normally say pet but as the diesel is manual not DSG I'd say test drive both and get which ever box u prefere :)

I agree, test drive both and make a decision, I would say petrol too as i am biased hehehehehehhe

My father took my car for a spin today. He loves how quiet the TSI engine is compare to his 3.0 V6 CDI and he loves the quick shifting from the DSG.

Just a thought but the type and distance of your driving might be worth considering. Diesels take a while longer to warm up (and become more efficient) that petrol and generally modern diesels don't like lots of short journeys as it can cause the DPF to get a tad upset.

insurance aswell! at 20 my cupra is £750 fully comp, looked at a FR 2.0 as i might be moving, £1700! what the **** is all that about?!

Insurance on my FR TDi I get tomorrow was an additional £27 on top of about £300; moving from 1.6 CR Tdi to 2.0 FR. Insurance on the Cupra was an additional £1000 for me (Admiral), hence going for the FR.

I chose Diesel as I drive 40 miles every day, and also because Torque is more addictive than pace :p.

I'd say diesel, more efficient on fuel and drives really well :) but obviously go for which you feel more comfortable driving.
I've gotta say I nearly went for the petrol but was a bit put off by the DSG.
Just test drive both and then make the decision :)

I changed jobs and now commute 10 miles a day so went from Diesel to the CUpra. I was worried a bit about hte DSG but it is pretty awesome and the look on friends faces when they ask "whats that on the steering wheel?" and i say "oh, its got a flappy paddle gear box". Their faces just grin! Its an awesome feeling

However, i do miss the sheer torque of the leon 2.0tdi
