hi all,been trying to trace an oil leak,did the rocker cover and sorted top end,then found it leaking from behind inlet manifold.(mk2 07 FR 170 tdi)
took it off,resealed it,cleaned out egr etc,put it all back together,
now sometimes the cars sounds/runs rough.......almost a rattling/diesel knock and kicks out LOADS of white smoke!,but give it a bit of boot until turbo kicks in and it seems to smooth out and clear,then drive slowly in traffic the rougness/noise/and smoke comes back!.really bad white smoking,embarrassing if anyone behind :-(
can anyone think what may of gone wrong??,only done it since ive done the manifold.
had the white smoke /rough ideling on tickover before,but recently sorted that with cam timing adjustments,and its been running perfect and smooth,like a different car.
so then i thought great,now i'll sort the oil leak out,then this!!....gutted,and cannot work out what has happened??.
