Hello, I have today purchased a 07 plate Leon TDi FR (18' Alloys and Bluetooth) with 600 miles on the clock.

I have been after one for a while and I am really pleased with my acquisition.

I have exhausted the search function to gather information, but I do have a couple of questions though:

What sort of "running in" does the car need?

I have been looking at purchasing a Denison Gateway 100 system to connect my iPod. Does anyone have experience of using or fitting these? If not can anyone recommend a good supplier/fitter in the Southampton area?

I have been used to driving a BMW (forgive me!) with rear parking assist for the past few years. Can anyone recommend a good aftermarket system for the Leon?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Liam

Hi, congrats on your purchase

Rear parking sensors are a dealer fit option. So why not try your local SEAT dealer. I have included a link to SEAT accessories page for the Rear Parking Sensors that are suitable for the FR (Part Number: ZGB000052296)

Or ..... You could just plug it into the aux socket :) (sure you wont get all the features, but it will work)

Thanks guys, I will look at trying the Aux input first to see if I can live with that, before buying the denison kit. I'll also give the dealer a bell about the rear parking sensors.

I know Sextons in Southampton deal with all the I.C.E. side of things, google them, I believe they have a website.

I have now had the Gateway 100 fitted (£130 supply and fit) and it is OK. I have it mounted in the glove box. Apparently only BMW and a couple of other makes support the text display(Which I found out after installation) so you just get a track number on the head unit.

The wife is getting a Harmon Kardon (£80 fitted) ipod system from Halfords at the weekend for her clio sport. To be honest it looks a better bet and cheaper than the Denison. Worth checking out.

That's a shame that the MFD doesn't display the info. From the looks of the one in the picture its certainly a VAG dash, with what looks to be a similar MFD to ours. Maybe its the MFD3, which I know someone has fitted to their Leon on here.

I wanted the Ipod connector - however, when found out that it just worked like a multi-changer stuck to the Aux socket and have Ipod next to gear stick and can control it fine and saved £100 plus!

Mine came with the Ipod connector under the seat and my mate has the Aux jack. I kind of wish mine had the jack plug as its a faff trying to find a song which is buried 120 songs into a playlist! If you are reading this and considering it stick with the Aux jack plug!
