Hopefully I can get some info here about a possible car purchase.

I'm looking at a late Mk1 Leon as above. its got a fair few extra manufacturer bits on (Cupra R brakes/roll bars/wheels, Seat/Bilstein shocks, etc etc) which were all factory fitted, presumably because it was on run out & they loaded them up?

Car is also fitted with the Revo software & SPS switch box & makes 197bhp & a comparable torque increase (can't remember exactly how much).

It's a pretty hefty increase, which is nice, but I wouldn't mind some peoples opinions of what its like to live with.

Also, completely OT, but does anyone know who makes a decent bike rack that will fit it?

Cheers :)

If the car still has a standard clutch, I would recommend not flooring the throttle under 2000rpm in 4th, 5th and 6th, otherwise you will shorten the life of your clutch.

My friend has a standard 150 FR+ and he has owned it since brand new 55 plate and has done 36k miles in it.
He still gets over 40mpg and drives it very hard, front tyres do only last him about 7k though but that is worst case.

I half expected consumables such as clutch & front tyres to take a bit of a beating with its being FWD.

They seem to be holing money well at the moment. The car in question is yellow, done 12k miles, and by all accounts is immaculate, but its up for late £12's.

Is this reasonable? Taking into account the spec?

Onvi yellow cars do retail for a little less than other colours and can prove harder to move on when you come to sell. Having said that IMO it is a nice colour.

Personally, I like yellow cars, but I can see why people wouldn't, but then there always is someone out there who has the same thoughts..

Strange, as yellows on a lot of other cars attracts a higher premium...

Is it in the right sort of ballpark amount? I would like to get it for £12k ideally, but then thats a test of negotiation!

I bought mine for £11995 last week, 23k. Had a feeling they would have taken a bit lower also. Westgate Seat, Grimsby.
