Afternoon,

Just thought I'd drop a message on here to say hello!!

I used to have a Leon FR 2.0TFSI as a company car a few years ago which I gave back to work and I then bought myself an 08 Astra VXR. (Don't have any pictures of the Leon unfortunately!!) But here's a couple of my Astra:

Loved the car while I had it (Just over a year), really fun and insane! Completely different car to drive compared to my old Leon. Not an easy car to drive fast cause it tries to kill you at every oppertunity with its angry power delivery, but having said that, they don't handle as bad as everyone (Jezza Clarkson!!) makes out and are an absolute hoot to own!

It's gone now though to make room for a new Leon Cupra R with the technology pack on it. Decided to treat myself and buy something new for a change instead of used. So now I just have to wait... and wait... lol

Anyway, I suppose you're all gonna tell me now that I should've just bought a Cupra and remapped it, but hey ho!

So... hello! :D

Nice pics of the VXR buddy - I like them in that colour.

Congrats on ordering a Cupra R - I won't tell you to get a 'standard' Cupra modded - the others can do that :D

When is the R due to be delivered?

I'll be interested to see one when my dealership gets one.

seeing as the R has already been ordered, dont worry about the price etc and just enjoy it!

Always had a soft spot for VXRs due to the noise, but a fettled cupra will piss all over one.

Haha. I done fairly well getting rid of my Astra and I think I got quite a fair deal on the R too... so all in all, I've done alright out of it.. not costin me a great deal extra!

You heard the Remus exhaust on them? The pops, bangs and cracks off it... NEVER get boring haha

Nice choice of cars there mate.
I swaped my Astra 200+ for a Cupra and even though I liked the Astra I am well happy with the Cupra.
Congrats with the Cupra R, but the wait will be a bitch though.

I am sure you will enjoy your new car :). The VAG 2.0T in the Leon is light years ahead of the Vauxhall 2.0T in he VXR.

With regard to your mention of a remap, that approx £500 will take your car to a power level of just over 300bhp that would cost loads more on the Astra as it would also need exhaust, intake, manifold, intercooler etc etc etc. Add all the bolt ons to your new car, and look for about 360bhp or thereabouts ;)

You may miss the noise the Astra VXR's make with an uprated exhaust ( I like that noise too ) but a Leon with an uprated exhaust sounds mint too!

Enjoy it when it comes :)

Just round the corner.
Good choice mate. I have had my Cupra for nearly a week now, bloody love. The chap I bought it off, had done everything I was going to do, so don't really have to do anything.
It's got a stage 1 on it, and mullered an Astra VXR.
My mate is jumping ship from an Astra VXR, and is going to get a K!

Although the wait will do your head in! I had to wait three days, and couldn't bear it. LOL

Haha class! I've never even driven a Cupra.. just the FR that I used to have which was great fun. I actually had my FR back for a week whilst I sold my VXR and sorted out a run around car until my R arrives and it just reminded me all over again why I loved it so much so can't wait for me newun!!

The months can't go by quick enough at the minute!!
