Servicepoint - which JCB branch are you dealing with out of interest?

Strangely enough good question, when I tried to call them this morning Ashford, Kent they informed me he didn't work there and transferred me through to Medway, they then transferred me back where I got cut off. Then tried another number I had an 01634 number and was told he would call back.

So I have no idea where I have to collect this car I'm rejecting!

I'm now back onto VW to see if I can get the original offered deal on the Golf.

Dealer came back.
£100 comp.
Not good at all, terrible customer service and communication from Seat and the dealer and then to offer a derisory £100 to top it off.

The car should never have been built without offering the customer the option to add the parking pack after they changed the spec.

No return if call from JCB, Seat UK or Drive the Deal

Tried phoning first 2 but no one available

DtD chap very helpful when I spoke to him this morning, but he is probably getting nowhere as well

Hi all,

Recent joiner from the Norwich area here - I've read lots of useful threads already (thanks for that) and I'm looking forward to receipt of my Leon 5dr 1.4 EcoTSI in Monsoon Grey (with quite a lot of extras) in about 2 months time.

I only ordered my car back on 11th March based on the latest brochure which, upon review, is very unclear regarding the front parking sensors. Off the back of this thread, I've emailed the garage to see if there is anything they can do to give me the package I want (assuming that front sensors are not included). Does anyone have any experience of altering their order after confirming it - is it even possible or is it "locked in" immediately? I was told by the dealer that there was a 3 week lead time for the block itself so I'm hoping that it's not even on the line yet, which may give me some room to manoeuvre... Or am I p*ssing in the wind??

As with a number of people on here, I've selected a very personal specification so I'd be disappointed if an element is missing. I'd already ordered the Rear View Camera and, had I known about this issue and the fact that there is a pack available which offers the front sensors too, I would have gone for it.

Look forward to reading more about other people's experiences in the hope that there are some happy endings!

Thanks in advance.
Dom

Did the £100 include fitting sensors or was that it for omitting at least £500 of kit?

Also they didn't tell us because they can not stop a production line for something as trivial as a customer

No it didn't include the fitting of sensors.
I know how the order system works however it can be manipulated, VW did this 7 months ago when we had an order in for a Polo GTI, the spec changed and they added another parking option over the original cruise and park pack, for an extra £35 you could take the parking pack which was the cruise and park + rear camera. Our build was confirmed with a build date but it was still amended. Under the circumstances Seat should have notified the dealer and they in turn the customer.

Like somebody said in the small print the Manufacturer does say that specifications may change but with a major change such as this I would think that you would have every right to cancel the deal and get your deposit refunded. If you want to stick with the dealer the very least that they should do is to arrange for your vehicle to be updated at their cost with OEM parts to bring up to to the level that you were expecting when you ordered the vehicle.

I tend to always order from stock, this way you cut out the 12 week build delay and I don't really need anything over and above what was originally a very well specified car albeit with front and rear sensors plus the OPS display. I know it is nice to have something built to your specific requirements but this can sometimes come back and bite you in the ar*se as some people have found out to their cost!!

Just beware that if you accept a "financial" settlement from SEAT, expect it to be vouchers, not hard cash. They're the "High Street" variety, so only redeemable at certain outlets (Currys, Argos, B&Q etc). That's what I got when the CO2 rating on mine changed between order and delivery - which almost covered the extra tax for the 3 years I'll have the car.

Dealer fit stuff is rarely OE spec these days - If I was in your shoes, I'd refuse the car TBH. Aftermarket sensors are rather poor to say the least - we had no choice with the wife's car (Citigo) as rear sensors only came with Citysafe as a "pack" and she didn't want that, just the rear sensors. The "buzzer" is still hanging out of the rear trim panel where they expertly fitted it..looks like a 5 year old did it.

I'm pretty much going this way myself, seat customer services were hopeless. I also spoke with dtd but it's not really there problem although I'll now be very wary of ordering through them as they advised that due to the great price I was getting through them there was no room for worthwhile compensation whereas if I had paid closer to rrp I would have received perhaps £800!! They also informed me that Seatcare making no contribution to compensation and have no interest in doing so.

The £100 offer is insulting and I actually now feel conned by Seat, I think I might move on from the whole VW group, not to be trusted.

Just wanted to say thanks for starting this thread and making others aware, has certainly made me think twice about ordering another Seat

You did the right thing cancelling your Seat Leon order, did you have any issues cancelling it ?

Good luck with whatever you get in the end, hope it works out better than your Seat experience :)

I've just contacted my dealer and he's sent me a copy of the order form to the factory which expressly states:

"PK2 - Fronting & Rear parking sensors"

As one of the options, separate and in addition to the usual things like Technology Pack, Winter Pack, Rear View Camera etc...

Has anyone else obtained similar guidance from their dealer or have you had it confirmed that this hasn't been included in your order?

Dealer confirmed to me my car was one of a block built without the sensors. It should have been on the car but Seat decided no.

Seat should be licking customers a---s with sale down 24% do to the vw emission scandal, not winding them up.

Im in this boat too, mine was build week 11 and im expecting to collect in the next couple of weeks so more than likely mine will be rear sensors only, not heard a peep from the dealer. To be honest the main reason i went with my local seat dealer rather than a broker was for the customer service:clap:

Think yours is about the same build week as mine which arrived in the uk today, I was told around middle of April for collection. I suspect no front sensors... on the positive side you should get decent compensation from your local dealer if you've paid near rrp for it, well according to the guy at dtd

Dealer advised me today that they were informed at the end of February by Seat about the sensors being omitted.

So my 184 FR arrived at my house this morning direct from Dealer in York.

Ordered mid Jan. Build week 9.
Paid for Rear Camera and other options.

Needless to say it has turned up without front sensors.
Spoke to dealer who have spoken to Seat Uk.
Apparently they have accepted they are wrong and either way it should have them. Either by standard spec in build week 9 or by virtue of the camera pack.

Dealer has been amazing and told me to either reject the car and it would be returned to them and resolved with genuine Seat from sensors and linked in the the optical display.
Or
Accept the car and they would arrange for it to have the work done at my local Seat. Hatfield.

I rejected the car and it has sadly gone back.
Fingers crossed it gets resolved soon

The dealer has been fantastic this far. But the proof is in the pudding. We'll see.

I was waiting for that scenario to happen! Seems they don't know their arse from their elbow. Really glad I bought a stock car lol
