Fuel and temp gauge problems help!!!

Hi I have a weird problem with my cupra r basically bought the car and the fuel gauge temp gauge and buttons on the end of my stalk don't work tried checking earths and everything obvious like loose connections and couldn't see anything also couldn't find anything on the forum about it either any ideas ???

Have you made sure the plug is securely in the back of the dash binicle?

Yeah took clocks out and checked all connections all seem ok

I think all 3 things share a common earth point which is around the steering wheel area (once the surround has been removed), 99% that it is that mate. It will be one of the earth points labeled 5,6.7 and 8 in the diagram below imo.

Fixed fount problem my engine earth was corroded and blew the fuel gauge and temp gauge in my clocks thanks for the help

Just wondering if you think these earth's could be responsible for Speedo & fuel guage to be have erratic? If Speedo drops out fuel guage will go iffy & beep at you at every corner/ roundabout. Had all sensors changed, but no one knows what it is & yet not uncommon? Any ideas you have would always be valuable. Cheers

Yeah mate, they both share a common earth, so I'd check the one's pictured above and also the ones in the engine bay too. Not sure which earth it is as the wiring diagram isn't clear, but it should definitely be 1 of them.

Did you have to replace the clocks in the end? Tested mine and seemed fine ?
